Meet Your Speech Therapists

Ashley Johnson – Owner/SLP (Bilingual – Spanish)

Hi! My name is Ashley Johnson, and I am a wife, mom, and speech-language pathologist. I am the owner of Speak Up Speech Therapy and I have been working in the field of speech pathology for thirteen years. I am a native Oregonian who grew up in Portland. I received my Master’s degree at the University of Washington and my Bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Pacific University.

I have always specialized in pediatrics. I have experience and expertise in the areas of: receptive and expressive language, articulation, swallowing/feeding, disfluency, oral motor development, cognition, social skills, and AAC. I have worked in a variety of therapy settings including hospitals, schools, early intervention, and online. I hold my licensure both nationally and for the state of Oregon.

It is my goal to provide quality speech therapy that makes a difference in the lives of my clients. I have a strong passion for helping all children find their voice and communicate with others. Speech therapy should be fun! I focus on promoting mastery of skills through play, games, pictures, books, and toys.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, enjoying a good cup of coffee and going on a nice long run.

Helen Webb – SLPA

Helen is currently attending Idaho State University’s Master’s program for Speech Language Pathology. Her goal as a graduate student and future clinician is to continue to learn effective and engaging skills to help children develop and build their communication skills and speech sounds. Helen was originally inspired by the work of school based SLPs as a paraeducator and is continually in awe of the many SLPs she has had the privilege to learn from in many different settings. She believes that everyone has the right to share their thoughts and ideas and wants to be a part of a profession that positively impacts our loved ones and greater community members.

Being a native Oregonian, Helen enjoys many outdoor activities with her family and friends here in the Pacific Northwest. She loves to go camping at the beach or around Mt. Hood. When the weather’s nice Helen likes to take kayaks out for a paddle on the river or take her boston terrier-french bulldog, Stout, out for a hike. At home she enjoys learning to bake new recipes and bake for her family in general.
